"Dolphin Man" is an extraordinary story of Jacques Mayol, one of the greatest divers in history, a multiple world record holder in deep diving. His intricate personal life, passion for diving, involvement in protection of the ocean and extensive knowledge of dolphins became the inspiration for the iconic movie of Luc Besson "The Big Blue". Now we get to know him even closer.
We are going on a fascinating journey into the underwater world, immersed in the sensual and border experience of free diving. We travel through Japan, Miami, Marseilles, Caicos Islands, Kalymnos and Elba. Diving allowed Mayol to reach the limits of the human body and discover the deep bond of man with the sea.
The film intertwines with an amazing contemporary underwater photography in the performance of the best dive in the world
with intimate comments from friends of Mayola, a family and world champions in diving. The narrator is Jean-Marc Barr - the creator of the role of Mayol in "The Great Blue."
"Dolphin Man" received the "Co Jest Grane 24" Readers' Award at the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival.
